Developed over more than 10 years, Christianity Explored is an informal course for people who’d like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. It explores who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him. The course assumes no prior knowledge, there is no obligation to attend every session and you may drop out at any time. No one will try to contact you unless you have specifically asked them to.
The course, a new version, runs on Monday evenings and now lasts for 7 weeks. It includes a meal each week, and everything is free of charge. You don’t need to know anything about the Bible, you’re not asked to pray, sing, or read aloud, and you can ask any question you like. Or, if you prefer, you can come along and simply listen.
The course takes you through part of the Bible, the Gospel of Mark, week by week. Each session starts at 7.0pm with a two-course meal - especially useful if you come straight from work or college - and the chance to talk to the other participants. A discussion time follows, then a short presentation with further discussion before we finish at 9.0pm. During the course there is a Saturday ‘Away Day’ usually held at a local hotel to give us time to look at some topics in depth.
The course is free to you, meals, all course materials, including the Gospel of Mark and handbook, are provided without charge. Ask us for details about the starting date of the next one. |
